GNE Day 2
It was a beautiful day in Kelowna and it looks like we’re in for a treat this week weather wise! Everyone was up early this morning (due to excitement? still on Alberta time?) and after a hearty breakfast we were off to Scandia. There, we mini-golfed, go-karted, and tried our hand-eye coordination with the batting cages. It was HOT but so much fun! This afternoon we embraced the heat and spent a lot of time in the water. Water toys, paddle boarding, and kayaking were popular activities. Our supervisors had a repeating chorus throughout the afternoon: “Are you drinking water? Where’s your hat? When was the last time you reapplied sunscreen?” The grade 9s also played some archery, bazooka ball, basketball, and beach volleyball to break up the water time. Tonight, the plan is to play a wide game, have a campfire, and we have a guest speaker from Pastor Tim’s ministry cohort who will share with us.
Parents - your kids are awesome! Everywhere we have gone, they have been kind, polite, and excited to enjoy the fun that each venue has to offer.
