The Bible is God's Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. This inspired and infallible Word of God is without error in its original manuscripts and is the final authority and supreme source of truth in all matters of faith and Christian living. The Bible enlightens our understanding, directs our lives and is the key to knowledge of God, ourselves, and the world.
(Psalm 12:6, Psalm 119:105, Psalm 119:160, 2 Timothy 1:13, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:21)
The one living and true God eternally exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and these three possess the same nature, attributes and glory. These three are co-equal and are one God.
God is the Creator of all things and Ruler of the universe. He preserves His creation and He continues to manifest His power and dominion in the universe. The ultimate purpose of creation is to glorify His name.
(Genesis 1:1, Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 1:31a, Genesis 2:4, Deuteronomy 6:4, Psalm 121:2, Matthew 28:19, John 1:1-3 & 14, John 10:30, 2 Corinthians 13:14)
Jesus Christ, the Christ of the Scriptures, the Word of God incarnate, is the Son of God. Through His virgin birth, true humanity and undiminished deity were united in one person. He offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, by dying on a cross as a full and perfect substitutionary sacrifice for sins, and His bodily resurrection and ascension to heaven marks Him as Lord of all.
The Lord Jesus Christ will personally and imminently return in glory for His church. Those who have trusted in the LORD Jesus Christ for salvation will live eternally in union with Him.
(Isaiah 9:6-7, Matthew 1:23, Matthew 24:42, John 1:1, John 1:14, John 14:1-3, Acts 1:9 & 11, 1 Corinthians 15:3, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Philippians 2:9-11, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 1 Timothy 2:5-6, Titus 2:13, Hebrews 1:1-3, Hebrews 4:14-15, 1 Peter 2:24, 1 Peter 3:18, 1 John 2:2, 1 John 4:10)
The evidence of Christ's presence in our lives is the work of the Holy Spirit. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Holy Spirit has united every believer to Christ. He indwells in every believer, from the moment of salvation, to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to empower, instruct and inspire us to do God's will and to seek His glory in all things.
(John 7:37-39, John 14:16-18, John 16:7-13, Acts 1:8, Romans 8:9-11, 1 Corinthians 12:13, 2 Corinthians 3:17-18, Galatians 5:25, Ephesians 1:13-14)
Man is created in the image of God, to be like Him in character and to bring Him glory. We are the supreme object of God's creation and love. God established a covenantal relationship with believers and their children.
Man through disobedience fell into sin. Therefore, he is liable to eternal punishment. Man cannot save himself. Salvation is entirely of God's grace, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone. This is a gift from God to humanity. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can we be saved from sin's penalty of eternal separation from God.
(Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 2:16-17, Genesis 3:6, Isaiah 59:21, Romans 3:22-26, Ephesians 2:1-5, Hebrews 9:26a-28, Revelation 20:11-15)
Jesus came to inaugurate the Kingdom of God (God’s sovereign rule or God’s sphere of influence). His victory over sin and death changed the course of history. Though sin, brokenness, and evil are still evident in the world, God’s kingdom is already here and is still coming. Someday Christ will come again, bringing the kingdom in full.
In the meantime God’s kingdom is being extended all over creation by His Spirit. God calls each of us to participate in the spread of His kingdom. The whole world is a place where we can carry out the mission of restoring God’s creation.
(Psalm 145:13, Isaiah 9:6-7, Mark 16:15, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 1:17-23)
