SALTS: Sailing Away
After a few hours of safety training, we were on our way. We sailed for about 5 hours in glorious sunshine and a light breeze. Several kids ventured out on the wiskers or up the shrouds. We also had our first lesson on tying knots like a reef knot, sheet bend knot, and sail tie knot. The Pacific Grace dropped their anchor in Bedwell Harbour and the Swift rafted to it. We have now settled in for the evening. Both boats are combined to play a game and will soon share "mug up" which involves singing and snacks. Then we will retire for the night. I am sure all the fresh air and activity will help us all sleep well tonight.
