The candles of Hope and Peace have been lit. Today we light the Advent candle of Joy. (Isaiah 35 1-10). We pray that we are reminded to sing “Joy to the World” for the birth of a baby in Bethlehem who taught us how to see what’s right with our families, our dwelling place and our world. And when we don’t feel joy in our hearts, that we would be reminded with the face of a child. In Luke 2:10 the angel told the shepherds, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ, the Lord. “Jesus’ birth brings us great joy and He continues to breathe joy into our lives. We light this candle in Joy.
