Day 3
Today, the sun rose with a promise of excitement, adventure, and countless memories waiting to be made. As our 49 enthusiastic Grade 9 students embarked on their journey at Green Bay Bible Camp in Kelowna, they were greeted by the tranquil waters and the warm embrace of the morning sun, setting the perfect stage for a day filled with exploration and camaraderie.
After a hearty breakfast that fueled their spirits, our students had the opportunity to indulge in activities that sparked their interests. Some ventured into the serene surroundings for leisurely walks, while others engaged in friendly games of basketball and beach volleyball. The laughter and joy echoed across the camp as friendships were strengthened with each passing moment. A stroll along the dock provided a picturesque backdrop, inviting contemplation and wonder amidst the breathtaking scenery.
At 11:15 am, our adventurers embarked on a thrilling escapade to the Zipzone, where anticipation mingled with excitement as they were harnessed and prepared to soar through the skies. With courage as their guide, 49 students and 10 staff members embraced the challenge, encouraging each other to conquer their fears and embrace the exhilarating experience. As they zipped over the rugged terrain, their cheers resonated through the air, a testament to their bravery and determination.
The breathtaking vistas offered by the ziplines provided a glimpse into nature's majesty, leaving an indelible impression on the hearts of our young explorers. Six exhilarating zipline rides over the gorge offered moments of pure exhilaration, creating memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
Following this awe-inspiring adventure, our students embarked on a scenic trek to Hardy Falls, navigating winding paths and charming bridges that led them to the mesmerising beauty of the cascading waterfalls. The tranquillity of the surroundings served as a gentle reminder of the wonders awaiting discovery at every turn.
Back at Green Bay, the excitement continued as our students embarked on a thrilling tubing adventure, propelled by motorboats across the glistening waters. For many, this was a first-time experience, filled with laughter, excitement, and a sense of exhilaration as they embraced the thrill of the moment.
As the day drew to a close, our students gathered around the fire pit for a cherished tradition - chapel time. Amidst the warmth of the fire, they sang silly songs, worshipped God, and heard God’s word preached, fostering a sense of community and spiritual connection.
As we reflect on the adventures of the day, we are reminded of the boundless potential that lies within each of our students and the beauty God has created for us to enjoy.
