Making Connections Worker

Ms. Alyssa Blake (MCW)

Hi there! My name is Alyssa Blake and I am the Making Connections Worker (MCW) for Trinity Christian School. I have recently returned from maternity leave and am very excited to be back in this community that I love!

I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology as well as a certificate in Biblical Counseling because I believe in the importance of supporting students in their development while using a strong Biblical foundation. One of the parts I love most about my job is working with children and youth to build up their identity in Christ while helping them to form healthy, meaningful relationships. I am also very passionate about proactive health and wellness from a faith-filled perspective.

As a Making Connections Worker, I am a part of Palliser’s Family School Liaison Program. I work to promote social and emotional learning (SEL) as well as increase connections between school, family and community resources. Some of the ways in which I serve our school community are by connecting families to other mental health community resources as well as providing social/emotional skill building through small group work with students. Some of the small group topics I offer include friendship, empathy, perspective-taking, self-regulation, conflict management, social skills, coping skills, general wellness… the list goes on! Your child’s teacher is welcome to make a referral to me - Please feel free to let the teacher know if you would like a referral for your child.

A bit about me: I am originally from Calgary and actually attended TCS myself as a student from grades 1 through 9. Outside of TCS, I love spending time with my family, friends and church community. I have a passion for the arts- especially music and dance, as well as living an active lifestyle and spending time outdoors.

Please feel free to email me at alyssa.blake@pallisersd.ab.ca if you have any questions. I look forward to connecting with you!
