Year End Volleyball: Grade 8 Boys

We won!! The Grade 8 boys did it again! For the second straight year, our boys took home the league championship trophy! Their hard work, perseverance and team play came through as they overcame some tough opposition. The boys faced some challenges right at the beginning of the season; learning a 6-2 offence and specific positional play. With tougher serves, blocking and stronger hits coming at them, the boys had to up their skill level, communicate and read the play better. CCS and Rundle came in and beat us on our home court. Our boys noted they didn't show up ready to play and began to reckon with the huge mental strength component in playing volleyball. The boys came out strong at the Rally Pointe tournament and brought home the gold part way through the season! Well done Eagles! Then, we tackled the grade 8/9 tournament in Three Hills. Our Eagles raised their level of play and took on some strong teams. Coming into the season-ending week and tournament, there were some tough losses with other teams playing very well. Again, noting the mental game, the boys had to dig deep and work hard and refocus on the fundamentals. They did just that!! Amazing wins boys! Well done! Your coaches and parents are proud of how you finished strong and worked hard all season!
