Volleyball 2014: Grade 8 Girls

This volleyball season was a very positive experience for me. I thoroughly enjoyed playing with this incredible group of girls. What made this season so great was not our victory at the end of the year, but how we got there. We had struggled with bonding as a team at the beginning, and were playing more as a group of skilled individuals, instead of a skilled team. I think what was most amazing to see, was how much we bonded on the court at the end of the season. We learned how to have fun when we played together and because of that our chemistry grew. I am so proud of every single one of the girls on our team. Every player improved so much and I'm so glad that I had the chance to play with these girls! Being able to make it to playoffs was so encouraging for us as a team. We went up against two teams, the first team we hadn't lost to, but it had always been very close. When we beat the first team, I remember the whole team saying "We did it! Guys we made it to the finals!" We then played against a team that we hadn't beaten yet for the Gold. That truly was the best part - pulling through and winning together as a team for the Gold.
